this week our group worked on the final assignment

Week 9

Learned heeps from the Iyan McCaig DVDs, the quick way to come up with concepts and story: create something out of your head firs then apply something from reality to it so the audience can relate to it.

week 8 -9

look lots of inspirations from the dvd we watched, learned some kool as techniques with laying the color, specially the importance of TONE!!! if the tonal values are great, the picture will will awesome.

Week 7

This week we went through the color on concept art, found out that:
blacks, reds and purples - evil and darkness.
yellow - bright, sickness
green - growth, wellbeing
blue - cold, wet

Week 5-6










this week i learned a quick way to brake down the layouts by color system. I found out how beneficial it is to reuse layouts in your animation. I worked on the animatic and done the storyboard.

Week 4

this week we went through scripts. I learned how to break it down so it is easyer to work on. I learned that different colors are used for different aspects in the script.
Red - reuse
Blue - roughs, shadows
Purple - Specific shadows
green - same as
Yellow - special effects

Then we went through layouts, the layers:
Character layers - keyposes
BG layout - ovwerlays and underlys
blue pencil is used for roughs.

Week 3

Um ye we went through storyboarding, reviewed different camera angles, we whent in ditail how to produce a storyboard, i learned how composition helps greatly in building storyboard. To keep the storyboard artistic an neat i have to consider the placement of horizon line, not to have lines running through characters head, every panel should have a balance by deviding it diagnaly.

Week 1 + 2

The first week was pretty chilled, and did some concept design stuff. I found an easy way to deal with concept design. i found that it is easy to create the genaral shape first then start working it out from there. Making sure that the mechanics is working properly, then have to make sure that the charecter exists in the real world, so i have to think about history of the character, the overall mood that the characters going to set to the viewers. If the concept design is an interior or exteriour i have to set the atmosphere and make it belivable.
